This year, I will be homeschooling my twins.
Due to their November birthday, they miss the cut off for Kindergarten start.
At first, I was going to do half home school, half preschool.
But as the months passed, I felt this was the best decision. I can’t work much anymore so this gives me a chance to spend more time with the twins before they head to school next year.
I will say (and perhaps I’m a bit biased), they know quite a lot for being “preemie twins.”They know many things [due to my oldest] that they wouldn’t learn until Kindergarten or even first grade. I am confident that they will thrive an be ready for Kindergarten in the fall of 2023.
As far as curriculum goes, I won’t be using a “set one” but will be using the Highlights Preschool work books as recommended by a few homeschool moms. Most of the worksheets I get are from the Preschool Play and Learn website.
I really liked this set of apple worksheets for the fall.I printed out most of the apple themed PDFs and as well as this cute set of marshmallow ten frames.
These folders, file rack and pencil cases I got from Dollar Tree.
This drawer set is from my mom from a long time ago but I found THIS similar one.
Most of the supplies are from my mom as well.
Thanks mom! 😊
Lastly, I got some lesson plan ideas from Jessi Fearon.
Again, I’m not following and set curriculum, but going by a mix of the Highlights workbooks, this lesson plan template as well as what I remember my oldest learned in Pre-K and Kindergarten.
Here’s what our “schedule” will look like:
Mondays and Fridays we’ll stay home, work on the workbooks, reading, a craft (of some sort) and outdoor play, Tuesdays my son has soccer, Wednesday my youngest has dance and Thursdays we will go to the library for “Little Explorers.”
I spoke with the librarian and she said that it would be perfect for them. They do sensory activities and learning through play. It’s geared towards 3-5 year olds and there are even some other homeschool families that attend.
Will every week be perfect?
No.
But I’m excited to venture on this path with them. One day at a time, of course.

Best of luck with that! Homeschooling hits two birds with one stone: You get to be with your kids for longer periods, and they get to learn the same stuff they do in a regular school setting.

YES! It just made sense for our family where I have so many resources and I want to spend the last bit of time I can with just the twins before school next year! Plus get to save $400-$800 each month. 🥴🥰🌿

Now that’s a pretty big amount you get to save!
