Rebuilding In Your 30’s.๐ŸŒฟ

There are many blogs and accounts out there that talk about this very topic.

While I am no expert, one person I’ve been following is Kayla over on on Instagram.

She used to be a full-time fitness instructor, but changed her career post Covid. I love many of her posts because it just shows you there are plenty of people out there [30’s or not] who are just as lost as you might be. She also gives a lot of useful tips on self care and filling your own cup solo.

It’s a relief to know that you are not alone, plus I think Covid just changed many things for many people in a blink of an eye. As I mentioned in my last post, I am slowly trying to transition from the fitness industry to working from home.

I wanted to share a few tidbits that I’ve been working on to get this goal started:

  • Budgeting & Planning. Can’t be a changing you life/ career post without budgeting as tool.
    • Realistically, if we want to change our career, we probably want to leave right away. It’s best to take a moment and write out all your major bills and necessities and see what is the bare minimum you need to make.
    • How much do you have saved?
    • How long do you need to work before you put in a two weeks notice?ย
    • Can you afford to leave sooner or do you need to work at your current job a bit longer to create a financial cushion? Etc. ๐ŸŒฟ
    • I also want to start making a “to do” list at night or in the early morning. I found that if I write them ahead of time (days or even a week in advance), I will forget. Perhaps writing it more in the “now” will work better.
    • Lastly, what do I want to accomplish in the next month? What do the next six months to look like? These are for me specifically but you can use any marker; perhaps it’s the next six months and year and so forth; find the timeframe that works best for you.

3. Be Patient. I would love to have everything figured out like yesterday but the fact is I know it’s going to take some time. As each week passes, I am learning the different things I need to do to make X amount and how to move towards working from home vs. in the fitness industry.

While I understand that not everyone can take this leap, taking things one day at a time and knowing that you have control over your choices moving forward can be a game changer. The main point here is that it’s okay to be lost and not know what the future holds.

It’s okay to want to start over and there is no age that signifies “it’s too late” for you.

We got this friends, one day at a time.-S.C ๐ŸŒฟ
